Nomad Overland Rally Highlights: Week One
The 2025 edition of the Nomad Overland Virtual Adventure Rally began with a burst of activity as some Teams were hot out of the gate and are already out exploring …
Week 7 saw a lot of activity around the country as our Nomad Teams continued aggressively logging points and heating up the competition. Three teams have passed the 3,000-point level, seven teams are over the 2,000-level and thirteen are above the 1,000-level. The same three teams have occupied the top of the Leaderboard for five weeks now, but there has been some shuffling. And several of the teams close behind are narrowing the points gap significantly. Team 117 Lucas hold on in first place for their fifth week at the top. Team 111 Potter pushed into second place with a very busy week. Team 115 Newcomb slipped into third place, but by less than 100 points, so they can certainly climb back. As the Rally moves into the eighth week of competition we will likely see the points gap between Teams closing up because there are only a limited amount of points available for Overland Stages and Activities, so when the Teams at the top “max out” their points in those areas, they will be struggling to keep their leads while other Teams continue to log points. Things like the Weekly Challenges and Flash Bonuses will become more decisive. And then there is always a random element with some of the more hard-to-find PhotoQuests. The 7th Weekly Challenge, “Outdoor Skills,” seemed a little bit challenging, but most of the Teams did fairly well with it so far. With three more weeks to go, the adventures continue!
