Nomad Overland Rally Highlights: Week One

Week 8 has shuffled the Leaderboard around a bit, as the Nomad Teams continue gathering points while adventuring around the country. Two teams have now passed the 4,000-point level. Five teams are over the 3,000-point level, eight teams are over the 2,000-level and thirteen are above the 1,000-level. The Leaderboard has seen some shuffling at the top after remaining unchanged for the past several weeks. Team 111 Potter climbed into first place knocking Team 117 Lucas down to second. However only 35 points separates them. Team 101 Mercer moved into third place after slowly climbing up in the rankings and logging proofs from their big trip. This week the Rally moves into the home stretch as the Teams begin their ninth week of competition. A number of Teams are still out on the road and have a lot of points to log, so we will likely see more movement, and the points gap between Teams closing up further as the Teams currently at the top of the Leaderboard “max out” their available points. It’s time for the Teams to really go looking for those challenging wildlife PhotoQuests to pick up some more points. The 8th Weekly Challenge, “Plotting with Headings,” seemed to scare some teams, but those who’ve done it have mostly done well so far — hopefully the rest of the Teams will give it a go. Only two more weeks to go!
