The Nomad Teams started Week 1 hot out of the gate, with some teams already out on Overland Stages and racking up points for activities. And a few teams really focused on their PhotoQuests, checking off an impressive number in the first few days of the event. Team 115 Newcomb, exploring in Utah, combined a lot of Activity points with their PhotoQuests, putting them in first place this week. Despite some vehicle trouble, Team 111 Potter was able to grab a bunch of points while out on the trails in Nebraska. In Washington, Team 132 Kienlen got in their first Overland Stage with some great PhotoQuest finds, too. And with the rally just in it’s first week, there are still a lot of teams who haven’t begun their Overland Stages yet — they have ten weeks to do the Stages. A few teams are in the middle of travel and others are still in their planning phases. We will see a lot more adventures over the coming weeks. We were very pleased to see how well all the Teams did with Weekly Challenge #1, which focuses on Tread Lightly principles and Responsible Land Usage. This Week’s Challenge #2 will test their Topo Map Reading skills.
