Nomad Overland Rally Highlights: Week One
The 2025 edition of the Nomad Overland Virtual Adventure Rally began with a burst of activity as some Teams were hot out of the gate and are already out exploring …
Week 3 saw more Nomad Teams hitting the trails on Overland Stages. The Teams have been racking up points, and we now have four teams that have passed the 1,000-point level. Team 117 Lucas moved up into first place, as they continued logging Overland Stages heading north from Washington into British Colombia this week. Team 115 Newcomb slipped into second place this week, but not by much, and they continue their exploration around Utah. Team 111 Potter held steady in third place, exploring around Colorado this week. A few of the teams are out on extended Overland travel, and will be logging their points in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Leaderboard for changes. A few Teams were thrown for a curve by the 3rd Weekly Challenge #2, which was about Weather Awareness — but some did quite well with it. Different teams have different strengths in their outdoor exploration skills, and the breadth of themes covered in the Weekly Challenges, gives everyone an opportunity to collect some extra points in areas they are most familiar with. Meanwhile a new Weekly Challenge was released today — Weekly Challenge #4 tests their abilities to precisely plot GPS coordinates on a paper map and determine distances within a margin of error.
