Hi, we’re Mike and Diane Smith from Northern California. We’re avid travelers, off-roaders and outdoors-people who, since retiring in January 2025, have spent over 300 days away from home including 11 US states, B.C. Norte, B.C. Sud and Sonora, Mexico.
Our primary home-away-from-home is a 2006 E-350 4×4 SportsMobile camper van affectionately called “Wanda” (besides our travel style, the steering used to be a little loose and she wanda’d a bit. . .). Our main off-road rig is a modified ‘06 Jeep LJ named “Darth” (Vader). You’ll also see “Forrest” (Run Forrest, Run!), a ’99 Jeep TJ that lives at our cabin in Idaho.
We were introduced to the Nomad Overland Rally by Charlene Bower and the friendly folks of the Ladies Offroad Network last summer. We have quite a bit of travel planned for this year with our co-pilot Lassen the Wonder Dog and look forward to a little friendly competition while sharing and following you all!
