2026 Leaderboard: Week 2

1st: 2,491 points

2nd: 1,141 points

3rd: 711 points

As Week Two came to a close, the pacing is set with our leading Nomad Teams starting to make some tactical moves while other competitors are just getting into the game. Maintaining an iron grip on the number-one spot, Team 117 Lucas is operating at an absolutely blistering pace. By cleanly logging 10 complete Overland Stages by the close of Week Two, they have amassed a colossal 2,491 points, giving them a staggering 1,000-point lead over the rest of the pack. But the biggest story of the week belongs to Team 101 Mercer — from a 373-point baseline in Week One, the Mercers turned up the heat and secured a massive point surge, jumping into 2nd place with 1,141 points. Holding strong in 3rd place with 711 points is our rookie standout crew, Team 112 Venrick. While they continue to methodically chase those PhotoQuest points, the Venricks have shifted into their core Rally activities — will be interesting to see how their early PhotoQuest focus impacts their position as they start adding in the Overland Stage points in the coming weeks. Outside the top three, the rest of the Nomad Teams are following their own rhythms. Some are just getting started with their big Stages, while others are intentionally holding back, meticulously building out their routing and staging their rigs for multi-week back-country pushes in later weeks. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint, and these early gaps can vanish in a single weekend. Finally, a massive shoutout to the Nomad Teams who tackled Weekly Challenge #2. Navigating complex contours, coordinate shifts, and old-school terrain features tested raw Topographic Map Reading skills to the absolute limit — this was a difficult one. Teams still have another Week to give it a try. Meanwhile Weekly Challenge #3 just dropped, and it’s shifted the focus from paper maps to weather awareness.
